Attention all parents and students!
There is a change in the class detention policy: If a student receives detention, he or she must serve that detention before returning to class the next day. If a student misses detention, he or she is responsible for serving that detention the following morning before class begins. Otherwise he or she will not be able to attend class. Any assignments missed because of this will be late and/or marked with a zero.World Literature

3. Ascetic journal. Pick the thing you will be giving up and write your first entry this evening. Write another one tomorrow evening. We will check the first two on Friday. Also, start reading chapter 2 of Siddhartha. If you want to get ahead on the chapter 2 questions, here they are:
1. How does Sidd act when he is with the Samanas?
2. What is his goal?
3. How does Sidd meditate?
4. What frustrates Sidd?
5. Complete the quote: “I could have learned more quickly and easily _______________________________”
6. According to Siddhartha, what can one learn? Explain what he means.
7. Who is Gotama?
8. What does Sidd do with the oldest Samana, and what does this show about him?
