Update: Members of the 2014 LCS Poetry Slam Team

LCS 2014 POETRY SLAM TEAM:
Thank you so much for every student who came to tryouts on Thursday, 4/17! It was amazing seeing all of you recite your poems and read your responses. The whole point of English class is to learn how to best communicate yourself to others, and you all did this with courage, practice, and aplomb! Therefore, every student who tried out for the team will be earning credit in English class for doing so. That's how awesome you guys are. 1. Finish My Origin Myth: A 1 page past tense narrative (story) that explains the answer to one of the following questions:
How did we all get here?
What are volcanoes?
Why do the seasons change?
Why do flowers exist?
Why does the sun rise and set?
Stories should be written myth-style, as if they were told by people before science and civilization.
2. Myth Beings Notes: Continue your Cornell notes from the book Mythology by Edith Hamilton. Take notes on Zeus and Hera (20-23).
3. Response poem - a draft should be finished and written or typed.
