1. Continue chapter 1 of Lord of the Flies ("Sound of the Shell").
2. Complete Journal #2 on pages 11-17 of the small book. Be sure to have around five entries and to take up one-two pages.

1. Read "Scar" and "The Red Candle" (42-66) in The Joy Luck Club.
2. On a piece of looseleaf paper, explain the title of each of the chapters -- why does the chapter have this title?
