Bonus Point Opportunity for Of Mice and Men:
The following short-answer assignments are worth extra points.  They do not need to be full-on literary essays, but do need to be well thought out and they do need to include textual support and parenthetical citation (in other words, good CDs). Focus on writing the “eight sentence paragraph” at least.  As always, they must be typed in the correct format. Good luck!
*Explain why Steinbeck calls his novel Of Mice and Men after the line from the poem by Robert Burns; why does the title make sense? Use examples from the text to support your ideas.
*Explain how Steinbeck is criticizing some aspects of the society of the time in his novel Of Mice and Men.  Use examples from the text to support your ideas.
Type the prompt and your response in MLA format and turn in for points! Responses will be collected up until the day of the midterm.

English H II
1. Complete the Inferno essay - due tomorrow
3. VPP10-14 -keep working on the midterm crossword puzzle.

**Work on the extra credit if you'd like to. The assignment is to write an essay about an author's viewpoints on the afterlife, and what you think of what they are saying. The texts I recommend are the following:
The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis (narrative)
Love Wins by Rob Bell (expository) S
